From an early age, Carolina Sans Cuende found in drawing a way to explore her imagination and bring her own worlds to life. A Spanish illustrator and painter based in Barcelona, she has developed an artistic universe where fantasy, delicacy and a profound attention to detail come together.
Her fascination with art led her to pursue a career in the visual arts, studying illustration and expanding her knowledge through a variety of disciplines, including graphic arts, painting, jewellery design, and artistic fire enamel on metal.
Throughout her career, Carolina has explored both traditional and digital techniques, combining contemporary tools with a deep appreciation for craftsmanship and the beauty of handmade processes. Her passion for ornamentation, textures, and the aesthetics of past eras is reflected in a body of work influenced by the elegance of Art Nouveau, the natural world, and the timeless allure of fantasy.
Alongside her editorial work —creating book covers and interior illustrations, particularly for publishers— she has developed her own personal projects and exhibited oil paintings and original artworks in galleries and cultural spaces in Barcelona, including the emblematic Art Nouveau venue Els 4 Gats. Her work has been published in magazines such as ImagineFX and Conde Godó Vela.
Through both traditional and digital illustration, Carolina continues to create windows into imagined realms, where dreamlike characters, hidden narratives, and magical atmospheres merge to transform each artwork into an invitation to journey beyond reality.
